Etienne Wery is a partner.
He is listed in both the Brussels and Paris bar.
He alternates between both cities, representing Belgian and French clients and pleading before all courts in either country.
Etienne’s childhood was spent in Japan, this sparked his passion for technology. He also gave IT and programming classes while studying at university in the 1980s.
Etienne is a lawyer but he also has a degree in business management.
He was called to the bar in 1992, and in 1994 decided to start his own law firm, specializing in Internet law. Gradually and with the help of the other partners, the project of Ulys began.
Etienne has written several books and contributed to countless leading law journals. He is regularly asked to give conferences on issues in his area of expertise. His is also senior lecturer at the university.
Etienne is fluent in French and English. He understands Dutch and has a basic level of German and Japanese.
Besides his activities in the firm, in 1997 Etienne created a Legal Portal dedicated to technology and law, which became a francophone internet reference (www.droit-technologie.org).
