Hervé Jacquemin specialises in Information Technology, Media and Communications Law with particular expertise in the domain of IT contracts and e-commerce (including the areas of e-invoicing, e-payments, e-marketing, liability of intermediary, etc.), Media Law, Market practice and Consumer Protection. He is the author of numerous publications in this field and regularly gives conferences on these subjects.
Hervé teaches general commercial law (BAC 3 at the University of Namur), e-commerce law (advanced masters in internet law at the University of Namur) and the foundations of privet law (BAC 1 at Brussels Business School.). He is also a visiting professor at the Catholic University, Louvain-la-Neuve and a member of the University’s Center for privacy law/ civil law. Within the Research Centre on Information,Law and Society (CRIDS) at University of Namur he provides leadership of the e-commerce unit.
Hervé graduated from Catholic University, Louvain-la-Neuve and completed a LL.M in Informática y Derecho at the University Complutense, Madrid. In 2009 he obtained a Doctorate in Law from University Notre-Dame de la Paix of Namur. The subject of his Doctoral thesis was ‘The Mechanism of protection of the Weaker Party in a Contractual Relationship’ this was financed with support from F.R.S.-FNRS.
Hervé is fluent in French and English and is highly proficient in Spanish and Dutch.
