Cinema, Media & Entertainment

The department advises a broad range of participants in the cinema, the media and entertainment industry.

cinema law: the unavoidable

Indeed, cinema law is where several different rules and subjects come together especially because of the important numbers of protagonists involved in this sector. Ulys has full capability to render legal advice in connection with production, distribution and operating companies as well as to television channels, cinema and broadcasting professional organizations, actors, artists and authors.

Moreover, cinema law is also impacted by the technological evolutions and the Medias convergence but also by the European and international regulations development. This situation spurs on more prudence, control and technicality but generates also more competition in particular between all the different organizations involved in the cultural/broadcasting markets.

At the heart of the media/telecoms/internet convergence

Ulys has developed a high level of expertise with regard to advising companies which fall within the convergence of media, telecoms and the Internet (mobile television, VoIP, digital television, etc.).

On-line press law: a specialisation in itself

Press law, particularly in France, is a complex matter riddled with pitfalls which requires the experience of a specialist.  Issues of defamation and the right of reply are perfect examples of this.Ulys works at a contentious level as well as within the domain of advice and assistance.
